Roderick McDavis, Reflection
I remember very fondly my trip to Chubu University in November 2014 during my tenure as President of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University. While the primary purpose of trip was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chubu University and to renew the partnership agreements between Chubu University and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University, the best part of trip for me was the opportunity to meet and vist with the wonderful faculty, staff, students, and administrators at Chubu University.
I remember the tour that our delegation took of the beautiful Chubu University campus. The campus reminded me in so many ways of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Univesity campus. I was especially reminded of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University campus when I saw the replica of the Cutler Hall cupola located in a prominent place on the Chubu University campus. It was a very emotional moment! That's one of the lasting memories that I will always have of Chubu University!
The faculty, staff, students, and administrators that we spent time with at Chubu University were among the friendliest people I had met in my life. They expressed much joy and happiness about the partnership between Chubu University and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University. Many of the people we met, especially the students, were looking forward to visting the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University campus in the years ahead. We encouraged all of the students we met to come to Athens and visit Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University. The social events that took place during the visit provided us with an opportunity to get to know the people of Chubu University better. I came away from the social events with a much better understanding of and deeper appreciation for the people and culture at Chubu University. I was most impressed with all that I learned about Chubu University and it's people during my visit! I will always cherish the memories of my visit to Chubu University! It was truly one of the most memorable trips that I had the pleasure of taking during my tenure as President of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University!
