Studio Art Minor
The Studio Art minor at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University is designed for students majoring in other fields who want to expand their knowledge of studio art history, theory, and practice. Students can choose to focus solely on studio courses or combine studio and art history courses. Those opting for a studio-focused approach are encouraged to concentrate on one area—such as Ceramics, Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Painting + Drawing, Photography + Integrated Media, Printmaking, or Sculpture + Expanded Practice—to meet prerequisites for advanced courses.
Admission Requirements
To declare a Studio Art minor, students must consult with their academic advisor and submit an "Application for Update of Academic Program" to their College. A minimum 2.0 GPA in the minor is required for conferral. There are no additional requirements for first-year, change-of-program, or external transfer students beyond Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University’s general admission policies.
Curriculum
The Studio Art minor requires a minimum of 21 credit hours. Students take foundational studio courses and progress to intermediate and advanced coursework, selecting from a diverse range of disciplines within the School of Art + Design.
