The Department of Teacher Education offers several paths to earning a teaching license at the undergraduate and master's levels; endorsements, professional development, and master's degrees for current teachers; and doctoral programs emphasizing research and teacher preparation.

Our programs are grounded in national and state standards, embrace the clinical model with a strong connection to field experiences, and emphasize a commitment to equity, justice, and diversity.

Maureen Coon, assistant dean for student affairs and academic advising at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University's Patton College of Education, retired on June 30 after a distinguished career spanning 18 years. 
The University of South Carolina has selected Jacqueline Yahn to participate as a fellow in the Institute for Measurement Methodology in Rural STEM Education.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Chillicothe has enriched its long-standing partnership with Zane Trace School District with an intensive tutoring program with funding from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Education.

The OHIO Patton Empower Veteran Education Program

Are you interested in becoming a middle level or secondary teacher to help fill teacher shortages in the state of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ? Do you hold a bachelor's degree and belong to one of the following groups: transitioning active-duty military service members; currently serving reserve and guard component service members; or military veterans or spouses. OHIO's Patton Empower Veteran Education program is currently offering a $14,265 scholarship for veteran education students (VetEds) to obtain a master's with teaching license.
