Overview
Through a balanced online and in-class instructional approach, the principal certificate program is a 17-credit program completed over three semesters. The courses align with National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) standards, embed key Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ educational initiatives, and include an internship that prepares candidates for the required Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ licensure exam and school leadership. The program format is a cohort model that meets on Saturdays to accommodate working professionals. New cohorts begin each summer (applications due by April 15) at the Athens and various regional campuses.

Admissions Requirements
- Online application: Non-degree program code: CTPLLG (Athens) or CTPLRG (Regional)
- Transcripts conferring a Bachelor’s and Master's degree in education or education-related field from an accredited university with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 scale (not required if a Master's degree is from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University)
- Active professional teaching license (or the ability to obtain one before the program begins)
- Statement of purpose regarding career commitment, leadership potential, and professional goals
- Current résumé/CV is preferred but not required
