How to Apply for the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Early Assurance Program

Outstanding high school seniors from the state of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ are invited to apply to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Early Assurance Program (EAP). In as few as seven years, students can earn their undergraduate degree from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University and their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Heritage College.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, a student must:

  • Have applied to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University by November 15, 2024 (and eventually earn admission)
  • Have the equivalent high school (unweighted) GPA of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Be an Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ resident, have graduated from an Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ high school and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Have four years of high school math, English, and science, including biology and chemistry (coursework in physics is also strongly encouraged)

Application Process

The OU-HCOM EAP application deadline is January 10, 2025. To be considered, students must submit the following:

  • EAP application
  • A completed school counselor evaluation (complete request form within the EAP application)
  • A resume (use template provided within the EAP application)
  • A letter of recommendation from a science teacher
  • Personal statement of 500 words or less explaining why you wish to pursue a career as an osteopathic primary care physician (submitted via the EAP application)

A select group of applicants will be invited to participate in a virtual interview in the spring semester. Applicants will be notified of final admission decisions in March.
