Portfolio Priorities

IT Portfolio Priorities are the most important body of work happening in each portfolio. The Priority is not the only work occurring in each portfolio, but it is the highest priority. If we do not make progress on these priorities, we will not be successful.

Each portfolio has one priority (with the exception of Business Systems, which currently has two priorities). Priorities are expected to change over time.

Business Systems

Portfolio Priority: Business Systems

Complete a comprehensive assessment of our ERP ecosystem. Results will include a roadmap for modernizing our ERP ecosystem, forecasts of resources and costs, and readiness.

Establish a foundation for data & information strategy. Results will include an agreed upon data management strategy, a data governance framework and working practice, a data literacy campaign, and a roadmap for technical architecture and capabilities.

Digital Enablement

Portfolio Priority: Digital Enablement

Lead the adoption of effective and consistent work planning, prioritization, coordination, and delivery across the IT organization. Results will include the adoption of shared practices for working in and across technology teams, visibility into in-progress and planned work in and between teams, transparent reporting and analysis mechanisms for assessing and forecasting capacity, and visibility of the value delivered by a product, portfolio, or IT organization.

Results will include a roadmap, timeline, budget, and technology selection that considers broad stakeholder input and is vetted and supported by university leadership.
