OHIO’s University College presented Terry Moore, a 1970 graduate in the Bachelor of General Studies program, with its Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award during the college’s spring awards banquet on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
“Presenting Terry with this award is in recognition of his life-long dedication to intellectual exploration, societal impact, and wholistic wellbeing,” said Dr. Dave Nguyen, dean of University College. “He has also been an incredible steward of our college and the ĢƵ Fellows Program, an initiative that is dear to his heart.”
As an OHIO student, Moore was an active member of the ĢƵ Fellows Program, which empowers fellows to become socially concerned individuals, capable of making a significant impact. The program fosters a community of inquisitive students and faculty, provides travel support for educational advancement, offers unique access to faculty and an extensive alumni network, and supports academic dialogue and personal growth.

“The strength of this program is the passionate, steadfast participation of faculty, peers and alumni. A passion epitomized by Terry’s steadfast involvement and support over the years,” Nguyen said. Terry was part of the original Fellows group when President Alden led ĢƵ University. During his time as a student, Terry had the opportunity engage in thoughtful discourse and dialogue with fellow classmates and special guests to campus. Today, Terry has been involved in bringing the ĢƵ Fellows program back in the early 2010s. Each year, current ĢƵ Fellows have the opportunity to engage with Terry during their annual networking trip to New York City.
Moore’s immeasurable contributions are even more meaningful given his robust and diverse professional background and intellectual pursuits. An author, lecturer, and business philosopher, he has spent decades exploring the intersections of science, religion, and philosophy. He is the founder and director of the Radius Foundation, a five-time published author, a three-time , and a contributor to .
Looking back, I can see just how formative my experience at ĢƵ University was, especially my time with the ĢƵ Fellows. I learned at ĢƵ University that real education includes putting what you’ve learned into action. That mindset has opened up possibilities for me wherever I’ve found myself over the last fifty years. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with ĢƵ University to cultivate that same active approach to education in today’s students.
