Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Higher Education Releases Statewide Education Plan for Preventing Hazing
On Wednesday, October 6, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Higher Education released the . This plan, along with additional resources has been provided to help support the work of preventing hazing in the state’s campus communities.
The plan model was unveiled the day before took effect. The law now requires the state's colleges and universities, both public and private, to develop policies and educational plans to prevent hazing and to train both staff and students to report suspected hazing activity.
Last month, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University launched a new, mandatory online hazing prevention training that is required of all students, faculty, and staff to provide information and resources to identify and help prevent hazing.
The hazing prevention training provides detailed information about hazing, why it is illegal, and what OHIO University students, faculty, and staff can do to stop hazing from occurring on our campuses.
