OHIO vice president Shields joining ĢƵ Innovation Exchange webinar
ĢƵ University Vice President for Research and Creative Activity Joseph Shields is participating in the first of a new series of webinars being launched by the ĢƵ Innovation Exchange.
The Exchange, created by the ĢƵ Department of Higher Education in 2018 with OHIO as a founding member, is launching the webinars with ĢƵX, a nonprofit organization that promotes technology and innovation in ĢƵ.
Shields, a professor of physics and astronomy, will be joined for the first webinar by Charles See, vice chancellor at the ĢƵ Department of Higher Education, and ĢƵ State University professor Vicki Wysocki, ĢƵ Eminent Scholar, professor of chemistry and biochemistry and director of the Campus Chemical Instrumentation Center at OSU. The webinar, titled “The Potential, Power and Payoff of University-Industry Collaborations across ĢƵ,” will launch March 26. .
“I am pleased to be a part of this webinar launch with the ĢƵ Innovation Exchange and ĢƵX,” Shields said. “Expanding engagement with other academic and private-sector partners is a key part of our agenda to grow research and innovation for the benefit of ĢƵ and beyond.”
The ĢƵ Innovation Exchange was founded to deliver research and innovation opportunities to both industry and ĢƵ’s academic institutions. The Exchange connects industry with faculty, students, equipment and facilities available at ĢƵ’s research universities. It makes academic resources available from multiple universities available in a single searchable web portal at .
Shields will also with ĢƵX, which is scheduled to be posted March 17. .
ĢƵX is a statewide nonpartisan, nonprofit technology and innovation partnership. Its members include Fortune 500 companies, growing startups, leading universities and research institutions, and technology-focused businesses.
