Four finalists have been named in the search for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University’s next General Counsel. On-campus interviews will begin Nov. 18. The following finalists will spend time on the Athens Campus, meeting with representatives across our shared governance structure in scheduled interview sessions:

Nov. 21-22:  Joan Gates

Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Chaden Djalali, and Deborah Shaffer, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Foundation, are co-chairing this search. This committee includes a broad cross-section of our University. Members of this committee are listed below.

The University’s General Counsel is provided through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Attorney General’s office and the University President. As such, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Attorney General’s office has a representative serving on the search committee as well. The search committee includes:
