Nominations sought for Foundation, Alumni Association boards and 2020 Alumni Awards

With 2019 coming to a close, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University is preparing for the new year and looking for Bobcats interested in lending their time and talent to two of its boards and those who will be honored at its 2020 Alumni Awards Gala.

The University is accepting nominations for The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Foundation Board of Trustees, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Alumni Association Board of Directors, and its 2020 Alumni Awards.

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Foundation Board of Trustees

Celebrating its 75th year in 2020, The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the University and is governed by a board of trustees committed to assisting the Foundation in its mission to enrich OHIO by building relationships and securing private support that transforms lives and makes excellence possible.

The board’s Membership Committee is seeking nominations for new trustees who will be appointed to the board in June 2020. While nominations are accepted year-round, the deadline to submit nominations for consideration in 2020 is Friday, Dec. 13.

The Foundation is looking for new members who:

  • Will bring diversity of thought, background and perspective to the board
  • Are committed to building a diverse and vibrant board
  • Demonstrate an ongoing and sustained commitment to engaging with the University
  • Have provided philanthropic support to OHIO
  • Are interested and able to help think through and solve complex issues alongside staff and leadership

Based on the composition of the board and the needs of the University, candidates who are knowledgeable or have an interest in finance, budgeting and investments, real estate, technology, and/or governmental affairs will be of particular interest.

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Alumni Association Board of Directors

Composed of 28 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University graduates, the Alumni Association Board of Directors represents the diversity of more than a quarter of a million OHIO alumni worldwide and partners with the Alumni Association to connect and engage their fellow Bobcats.

The board meets three times per year with an overarching goal of upholding the mission of the Alumni Association – to advance Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University through meaningful, lifetime engagement of its alumni base. Members of the board serve three-year terms that begin on July 1.

2020 Alumni Awards

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Alumni Association and Intercollegiate Athletics are calling on Bobcat Nation to submit nominations for OHIO’s 2020 Alumni Awards.

Honoring Bobcats who have distinguished themselves professionally and/or who have provided notable service and support to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University as well as graduates who brought recognition to OHIO through their achievements as student-athletes, the 2020 award recipients will be celebrated at the 80th annual Alumni Awards Gala, held during Homecoming Week.

Nominations are being sought for the following awards:

  • Alumnus/Alumna of the Year
  • Medal of Merit Award
  • Distinguished Service Award
  • Charles J. and Claire O. Ping Recent Graduate Award
  • Honorary Alumnus/Alumna Award
  • The Kermit Blosser Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Athletics Hall of Fame
