Moms Weekend is a special time set aside each year to welcome OHIO moms. Find the complete schedule of events on the Family Weekends website at as the date approaches.

Those planning to attend Mom's Weekend should be aware of the following parking information. All university lots on campus will open at 3 p.m. Friday, April 5 to those without permits with the exception of Red Lots, Blue Lots, and garages. These lots will remain open through the end of the day on Sunday, April 7. All vehicles must be parked within a regular non-metered, non-restricted space within the lot.
Friday, April 5, 9 - 11 p.m. The Ridges Observatory
Public Telescope Night is hosted by the ĢƵ University Astronomy faculty and students. This event will be canceled if the sky is cloudy or stormy. Telescope nights are free and open to the public.
Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Uptown Athens
Each spring, university student organizations and departments along with community organizations come together to celebrate our global diversity on the streets of Uptown Athens. The Street Fair begins at 11 a.m. with the parade of flags. The International Street Fair is part of International Week at ĢƵ University.
Saturday, April 6, 6 - 8 p.m., Bird Arena, 23 Oxbow Trail
Presented by OHIO's Synchronized Skating team and Bird Arena's Learn To Skate program, comes the Spring Ice Show! Pull up those leg warmers on Mom's Weekend and get ready to Wake Up in the 80's! Tickets will be $6 for adults, and $5 for children and students. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk in Bird Arena.
Saturday, April 6, 6 - 8 p.m. Walter Hall Rotunda
To celebrate 20 years of Thai language instruction at OU, we are having Thai Night 2019. At the event you will enjoy authentic Thai food while watching the special show performed by Kruu Chang Janaprakal Chandruang and the Moradok Mai Community Theatre. You will be invited to celebrate Songkran, a traditional Thai New Year with us.

Dr. Trevon Logan, The Hazel C. Youngberg Trustees Distinguished Professor of Economics at The ĢƵ State University, will present the 2019 James Lecture sponsored by the Department of Political Science at ĢƵ University. The talk is called, “War on the Homefront: WWII and Black Political Participation.”
Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 4:10 - 5 p.m. Clippinger Hall Auditorium
ĢƵ University’s Chemistry and Biochemistry Department introduces the 2018-19 Roenigk Lecturer, Professor Mir Wais Hosseini, from the University of Strasbourg, France. He will give two lectures in the Clippinger Auditorium: Tuesday, April 9, 4:10 – 5 p.m., “Molecular tectonics: from networks of molecules to networks of crystals.” Wednesday, April 10, 4:10 – 5 p.m., “Molecular Turnstiles.”

Ecolunch presents Samuel Gutherz discussing “Birds and Bones: Cuckoo for Osteology” on Wednesday, April 10, from 11:50 a.m.to 12:45 p.m. in Irvine 159. Gutherz is a graduate student in Biological Sciences at ĢƵ University. All seminars are open to the public.
