Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK Announces Selection of Ex Libris Alma as Next Library Services Platform

, the statewide academic library consortium that provides shared digital library resources (e-books, e-journals & articles, databases) and facilitates print sharing among member libraries in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, the selection of Ex Libris Alma as the consortium’s, and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Libraries’, next shared library services platform. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University is a charter member of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK.

The Alma library management system modernizes workflows and increases efficiency by streamlining print, electronic, and digital resources management for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Libraries. Alma also enables Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Libraries to deliver a high-quality user experience with seamless access to materials, as well as integrating with other library and university systems.  

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK that implementation of Alma is expected to take up to two years. Project plans for implementing Alma are being developed at the consortium level and will be communicated over the next several months. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Libraries has put together a Local Coordinating ILS Task Force that includes staff who are members of an ongoing Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵLINK team. While we see changes coming, we will be working toward an implementation with little to no service disruptions.
