Eligibility and Security Deposit

The GCP is a highly selective program. To be accepted into the GCP, students must meet all academic requirements, complete a professional interview, attend an info session, and have an acceptable student conduct report. The top tier candidates will be selected. Students must complete a pre-departure checklist and training,
and maintain eligibility through all program dates. Because the GCP typically has a wait list and accommodations are booked months in advance, a $500 deposit is required. If the student cannot pay the deposit, it is possible to request a waiver (see nomination letter for details).

Prerequisite: 3-Credit Course

Students accepted into the Summer GCP are required to take a preparatory course (BA 2290) during Spring
semester to prepare for the consulting work that will be performed abroad. Unless the student exceeds 20 credit hours for the semester and is charged extra tuition, there are no additional charges for taking this course.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid advising for study abroad students is strongly encouraged. In-person and virtual appointments are available. Students must provide a printed copy of this study abroad budget worksheet or email it ahead of time to Amy Joy at amyjoy@ohio.edu. Review the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Study Abroad Guide prior to your appointment and/or before committing to the Global Consulting Program.

Scholarships

Scholarships awarded by CIBED are contingent upon participation in the GCP, applied to the student account the semester of travel, and cannot be used as the program deposit or transferred to another program. Students who have accepted a position on the GCP will receive an application for scholarship consideration. There is no
guarantee that a student accepted into the GCP will receive a scholarship.

Additional GCP scholarship applications are available through:

Withdrawal Policy

If a student withdraws or is removed from the program after accepting this nomination and paying the deposit,
they will still be held responsible for fees related to the program. Specifically, 100% of the program fee and the administrative fee described in this student budget worksheet. If airfare has been purchased on behalf of the student, they will be billed for the cost of the airfare. Tuition refunds will be applied according to University policy. Documented medical emergencies will be given special consideration. For additional details, see the financial section of the Participation Agreement, which you previously signed in the OGO Student Portal.
